If you are logged in to the forum then you will be able to dowload v5.1 of my
Excel Spreadsheet. This will do what you want for any even number of teams. The file is macro enabled, so you will need to unblock it in file explorer and enable macros when you open it. (BTW it will not run on the Mac).
To get a schedule you need to do the following:
dial up the number of teams in cell A1
click on "Home/Away Format"
Select "do not randomize" from drop down list
check "Double Round-Robin"
uncheck "Multi-table layout"
You will be left with something that looks like the attached image.
The green and yellow background colours represent home and away respectively. The 8 teams can be paired in such a way that the two teams in a pair have alternating patterns of home away. Specifically the pairs are (A G), (B H), (C D) & (E F).
