Hi there, hoping someone can help me out.

I have an 8 team competition that is played over 14 rounds, meaning all teams play each other twice.
There are 4 time slots that they can play in, so I want the teams to have an equal share of the time slots if that is possible. If not, as close as we can get it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,  I think the following schedule will work for you.

     T1    T2    T3    T4
 R1 (8 4) (2 7) (3 5) (6 1)
 R2 (6 5) (7 1) (3 8) (2 4)
 R3 (5 2) (8 6) (4 7) (3 1)
 R4 (1 8) (4 5) (7 6) (3 2)
 R5 (1 4) (3 6) (2 8) (7 5)
 R6 (6 2) (3 4) (5 1) (8 7)
 R7 (3 7) (5 8) (1 2) (4 6)

 R8 (3 5) (2 8) (7 4) (6 1)
 R9 (2 6) (7 1) (4 3) (8 5)
R10 (7 3) (5 6) (1 2) (8 4)
R11 (1 8) (3 2) (7 6) (5 4)
R12 (7 8) (4 1) (2 5) (6 3)
R13 (5 1) (6 4) (3 8) (7 2)
R14 (4 2) (7 5) (8 6) (1 3)

so each block of 7 rounds is a single round-robin.  The 4 columns represent the time slots, and each team should appear either 3 or 4 times in each column.  Hope that helps.
