Title: horseshoe schedule
Post by: bobbyboy on April 22, 2012, 01:24:08 PM
Hi  this can pertain to tennis etc       I run a doubles horseshoe league, where each week you have a different partner and play each other player twice.
That is the way in the past with a whist schedule for 26 players     worked out well.   This year I have 31 players    can't seem to figure out how to do this.
I thought about a 32 player schedule with a dummy(use a sub), not sure how that would work out.  always short subs etc

APPRECIATE ANY HELP

With 31 players you could give 3 people a bye each week, and it should be possible to have a schedule over 31 weeks where each player played 28 times, each time with a different partner.  Would that be useful?  Alternatively, if it's acceptable to have one player each week who plays without a partner, then simply delete player 32 from the standard whist schedule.
