Title: One-and-a-half Round Robin
Post by: Travis(Guest) on November 18, 2016, 03:17:53 AM
Quick question: does anyone know of a one-and-a-half round robin tournament scheduler? One that divides the players/teams into two groups, with each player/team fighting every opponent in their group twice, & fighting every opponent in the other group once?

I don't know of any software specifically for this, however you could consider the problem as three separate schedules - two normal round-robin tournaments (within groups) and 1 bipartite tournament (between groups).

If you have two groups of 8, then there is an example of a bipartite tournament here.

This (http://wjporter.com/chess_etc/rrpair.htm) can help with the double round robin part.  As for the games between groups, are these games where one side as a small advantage (e.g., home field or White in a chess game?)
