Title: 6 golfers 5 rounds
Post by: graemeb on March 07, 2013, 11:16:30 AM
Hi, new member here!

I'm organising a golf trip for 6 golfers, playing 5 rounds of golf. Players will play in two lots of three each day.

I'm trying to even out the number of times the same players play together - ideally twice each - but seem to be stuck on a range of 1, 2 or 3 times each. Can it be done?

Thanks.

Unfortunately it is mathematically impossible to have all pairs of players play exatly twice, so there is no way to avoid having some play 1 or 3 times each.   There is a solution in 10 rounds but I guess that is too many.

Thanks for that, confirming my own thoughts. Perhaps I'll spread it over the next tour as well and hope the same people come along! :)
