I am trying to get a Round Robin schedule and Scoresheet for a Table Tennis Tournament we are doing at work.

I know Round Robin lets each player play eachother, which is exactly what we want.

We only have one table tennis table and 40 players.

With only one table, you might be better off with a knockout or double elimination event.  However to create round robin event:
  • Assign everyone (at random) a pairing number.
  • Subtract everyone's pairing number from 41 to get their first opponent.
  • Except for 40 (the "ghost" player), add 1 to each person's previous round opponent to get their next round player. After meeting 39, their next opponent is 1.  When they get to their own number, they play 40; then meet the player numbered directly above them.
  • Player 40 meets whoever is free.  Would meet 1, 21, 2, 22, 3 ... 19, 39, 20 in that order.
Note you will have 20 games in each round.
