Hi Ian,

I have a group of 10 golfers who will play 4 rounds (3some, 3some, 4some in each round).  I saw the earlier post that was exactly the same except it was for 3 rounds.  Your help in extending this to 4 rounds would be greatly appreciate!!

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,

I think the following is about the best you can do:

(1 4 5 7)  (3 9 10)  (2 6 8)
(2 3 4 7)  (1 6 10)  (5 8 9)
(2 5 7 10)  (1 3 8)  (4 6 9)
(6 7 8 9)  (1 3 10)  (2 4 5)

All but one of the players have 7 different partners with either two or three repeated pairings.  Player 7 always appears in the foursome and plays with everybody else at least once and at most twice.  I guess you could use this last feature to your advantage, the organiser should be player 7 so that everyone can meet him.

Ian.

Thank you Ian!  I don't know how you do it, but you sure saved me a lot of time.  If I had done it on my own, I still probably wouldn't have gotten to this point.    The "feature" with player #7 is useful as well.
